Planning notes · Travel pace

Make room for the way you like to travel

Your preferred pace is one of the most useful things to share with a travel designer. Describe a day you would enjoy, rather than simply asking for a relaxed or busy itinerary.

Describe your ideal morning

Would you rather leave early for an experience, have a long breakfast, or decide after waking up? A concrete example tells us more than a label such as slow travel. Share what time you like to start, how often you want structured plans, and whether you enjoy having part of the day open.

Give your priorities enough time

Choose the experiences you would most regret rushing. A meal, a tasting, a design visit, or an afternoon outside can each become the focus of a day. If everything has equal priority, the schedule quickly fills up. Pick the moments that matter and let the rest of the plan support them.

Allow for the whole travel day

A short list of activities can still make a demanding day if the stops are far apart. Review transfer times, walking, changes of hotel, and breaks alongside the experiences themselves. If you are traveling with others, discuss differences in energy and interests early rather than expecting one pace to suit everyone.

Leave space for a change of mind

Unplanned time can be a deliberate part of your brief. It gives you room to linger somewhere you enjoy or take a quieter afternoon. Tell your designer where flexibility matters most, while remembering that reservations and transfers may come with fixed times or change conditions.
